DSIN Speaker – "Synthetic Organic Chemistry and Spectroscopy in Medicinal Chemistry"

The Department of Chemistry, R. B. NarayanraoBorawake College(Pune University) organized a two days national conference on 'Interface between colleges and industry with reference to synthetic organic chemistry and spectroscopy' from 15th - 16th January 2016. The objective of the conference was to provide a platform for intermingling of academic and pharma sector researchers. This event also provided undergraduate and master students an opportunity to learn about key reactions and various spectroscopic techniques used in synthetic organic chemistry.

Mr. Sangram Shesharao Deshmukh (RCI, DSIN) was an invited speaker and delivered a talk on "Synthetic Organic Chemistry and Spectroscopy in Medicinal Chemistry". In his talk, he gave details on the role of organic chemistry in new drug discovery, and highlighted the application of new reactions in the synthesis of drug-like molecules. He also explained the value of spectroscopic techniques such as 1D-NMR and 2D-NMR in the characterization of new compounds having medicinal value. His talk was well appreciated by the attendees and organizers. DSIN took this opportunity to distribute DSIN folders and company brochures to all participants for brand image purposes.
